For the Love of Coffee
I am definitely a morning person. I enjoy getting up early and starting my day with some vigorous exercise. I know some of you may be groaning right now, but to me, it's a routine that I look forward to. It could be because I follow it up with that glorious first cup of coffee. Now I hear the sighs of reverence! I am a big fan of French press coffee. I've only met a few others who drink coffee this way, but trust me, it's a treat. It's very simple to make French press coffee. First, go to your favorite coffee shop and ask an expert to help you select a blend for French press based on your taste preference. Personally, I enjoy Peet's and Intelligentsia coff ee. Next, select your French press. Again, advice from your expert is helpful. You'll also need a coffee scoop, a teapot and a 2 cup liquid measuring cup. You're ready to make your first cup of French joe! Determine how much coffee you want to make. For two large cups of coffee, I place 4½ cups of water in the teapot and bring it to a boil. While the water is heating, measure 6 scoops (that's 12 Tbsp) of ground coffee and place in the glass coffee pitcher. Pour the boiled water in the pitcher, stir with a spoon and place plunger into container about an inch or so then bring plunger back to the top of the water/coffee mixture. Set a timer for around 4 minutes. When the time has elapsed, fully plunge the mixture. Pour the coffee into your mug and experience the aroma and taste of the first sip that gets you into the right frame of mind to face the rest of your day! Enjoy! Wildfire has used coffee from local roaster Intelligentsia for many years. This specially blended coffee is delivered every week, and you can taste the freshness. We chose the Wildfire House Blend based on the balance of flavor that is derived from the bourbon, caturra and catual beans from Latin America. Also, the beans in this blend are grown anywhere from 1200 - 1850 meters above sea level because the best beans are grown at higher altitudes. The blend is described by Intelligentsia as a harmonious and versatile blend that offers a full earthy body with chocolate tones. I really enjoy the coffee and feel that it's a good match for Wildfire because it doesn't overwhelm our food. In the spirit of coffee love, Wildfire has created a special that uses our blend for a great coffee rub used on a Coffee Crusted N.Y. Strip Steak. Click here for the recipe. You can purchase a pound of our Wildfire House Blend at all of our locations. Now wake up and smell the coffee! From the wood-burning oven,
